Health officials in the Indian state of Rajasthan are launching a new campaign to try reduce the high population growth in the area.

They are encouraging men and women to volunteer for sterilisation, and in return are offering a car and other prizes for those who come forward.

Among the rewards on offer is the Indian-made Tata Nano - one of world's cheapest cars.

Many in the government are worried about the size of India's population.

It is expected to overtake that of China by 2030.

Sitaram Sharma, the head doctor of Jhunjunu in western India, is hopeful that the chance to win a car might be just enough to tempt at least 20,000 men and women to undergo sterilisation.

He is also offering motorcycles, televisions and food blenders.

RolePlayGateway?

Here are some ideas to start with and one of these will be my first one here :p.

So yeah the basic idea of the Sci-Fi/Postmodern RP that involves people working as a team of alien hunters in modern day U.S.A, with advanced technology. Could be Gantz like game premise or like Men In Black type of thing with humor and action all that fun stuff!
How many players? Thinking bout 3-4 to keep it simple but good.
What kind of characters? Adult from 25 to 40 years old.

Other one is bit more of a fantasy setting in modern day. Think of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fablehaven or
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiderwick. Maybe fantasy creatures are trying to takeover the world? Or something goes wrong and hell breaks loose?
How many players needed? 2-3,
What kind of characters? Basically brother, sister and a friend. from 12-15 years old

One more Semi-fantasy/Modern Sci-fi. Bit like the books called power of five in which There are five teens and they have powers which they don't know about and are in danger because of evil organization is trying to get them killed?
How many players needed? about 4-5 Doesn't need to be five.
What kind of characters? Teens 14-16 years old

Postmodern rp with Highschool for superheroes? This could be 1x1 rp too with male (me) and female. Maybe some romance, but more action? Also note that I suck at writing romantic stories and need to learn how to!
How many players = Maybe two (More if more than one is interested)
What kind of characters? 15-16

So anyone want in to any of these? And note I'm used to the Int Check(Players sign up)> OOC(Players make characters and talk about stuff that happens)> IC(Where the playing actually happens!)

I've seen some with different system that you make the character same place you write IC... Hate that stuff. Oh yeah forgot to mention I don't do any gay or bi characters if somebody asks me to 1x1 rp... Had to say that lol.

Key Points Concerning Horse Racing Welfare

This article has been viewed 26 times.

There are many misconceptions regarding the treatment of racehorses in the UK. In fact, there have been many protective measures implemented by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) which keeps track of the condition of horses and carries out investigations and assessments to ensure that each animal is safe, healthy, and receiving the highest level of care from their racehorse trainer, jockey, owner, and others involved in the sport.

As part of the BHA Rules of Racing, the racehorse trainer is governed by the Animal Welfare Act which functions to safeguard the horse from instances that may result in injuries, disease, pain and/or suffering. This responsibility falls on the racehorse trainer and the vet to ensure that the horse if fit before taking part in any race.

It is in the best interest of everyone involve in the sport to make sure that the racehorse is in top condition. The racehorse trainer would not run a horse which wasn?t at full fitness, not only would the horse not race well but it may also jeopardize its future racing career.

To ensure the maximum safety standards the BHA make sure that there are horse ambulances and vets present on the course for rapid treatment, the course and jumps are also inspected prior to racing. There are strict regulations in place regarding the use of performance enhancing drugs or drugs which may mask pain, horses are tested for the presence of such drugs ahead of racing. There are also regulations in place with regard to the use of the whip by the jockeys, over use of the whip will lead to disciplinary action, horses are also vetted after the race.

Horses in training are typically exercised no more vigorously than they might naturally run, gallop, or jump amongst the herd. It is beneficial to start conditioning when young however, horses are never subjected to more demanding races such as jump races until they are at least three years old.

The horse racing industry furthermore, has the support of animal welfare organisations such as the SSPCA, RSPCA, and WHW. Every effort is made to avoid injury, repair fractures whenever possible, and reduce potential risks that can result in fatalities. Although there is still inherent risk involved, as with every sporting activity, there are only about 2 deaths occurring for every 1000 racehorses.

Irrespective of speculation to the contrary, horseracing is not a cruel sport. The horse trainer, racehorse owner, breeder, jockey, veterinarian doctors, and administrative staff are all invested, motivated, and committed to providing excellent care that creates stronger and healthier horses more capable of competing at their best with a reduced risk of unwanted injuries or illnesses.

If you are considering to buy a racehorse then a racehorse trainer will usually have a good selection of racehorses for sale.

How does Video Conferencing Work - Technology Today

People are always hesitant about change. For business owners?who want to utilize and take advantage of the benefits of modern technology?it can be hard for them to introduce and explain video conferencing to their employee majority will resist the idea. This is because some people in the company?especially those who have been working there for so long?are not open to the world of new routines and adjustments especially involving technology. But, there is still a way to do this?by explaining how does video conferencing work.

In layman's terms

To make people understand what is video conferencing, you must make them understand how it works. Basically, video conferencing refers to a communications technology where video and voice are integrated to be able to connect to other people or users that are in other areas. The idea behind it is to break the barriers in communication by creating a way where in people in two different places can talk and see each other as if they were in the same room at real time. Real time refers to the duration where conversation in updated and the parties can exchange thoughts and communicate without so much delay.

For a video conferencing to work, each party should have a personal computer with high memory, a web cam, a microphone, and a broadband Internet with high-speed connection. These pieces of equipment are the basic ones that are needed for a simple videoconference. In more sophisticated areas and business set-ups such as offices, more pieces of video conferencing equipment are being used.

These include video, wall mounts, table tops microphones, and such. They also have more complex video conferencing systems and avail of video conferencing services to ensure hassle free communication during meetings.

Unlike in the voice-only technology, video conferencing enables people to natural conversations using a good bandwidth. A good bandwidth is quite important for video conferencing because it makes seamless voice and video streaming possible.

When it comes to options, there are different types of video conferencing where people can choose from: the "point-to-point" or the "multi-point". The "point-to-point" video conferencing is considered as the most common and basic type that is being used by so many users worldwide. It uses individual IP addresses and connects two different users from different places directly. This type of video conferencing is quite popular in home set ups and in some other small offices. "Point-to-point" video conferencing also serves as a form video phone to many. However, it can only connect two personal computers.

The "multi-point" conferencing, on the other hand, come is several variations. It has a reflector and a multipoint connector unit (MCU) that serves as "multipoint bridge" that enables two or more three or more users. Here, a central hub is used to connect users and can also serves a "stand-alone" device or as a computer server itself. In multi-point, room systems as well as roll-about systems can be added to the personal computers themselves.

In more technical terms, the "IEEE" standard serves as a guide to the status and development of video conferencing. Here, there are two guides: the H.320 standard that says how the process operates using ISDN telephone circuits and the "H.323" that explains how video conferencing operates using an Internet (TCP/IP or just IP).

Understanding how video conferencing work primarily depends on the willingness of the person to adapt to changes. If you think that your employee is not into understanding it, it will be better not to train him or her because it will only be a waste of time.

Google boasts 500,000 Android activations per day (Reuters)

NEW YORK (Reuters) ? Consumers are activating more than half a million Android devices every day, an increase of about 25 percent from early May, according to Andy Rubin, who heads Google Inc's Android software business.

Google had said May 10 that 400,000 Android devices were being activated daily at that point. On December 8 Rubin had tweeted that daily Android phone activations had surpassed 300,000.

Rubin said the Android week-by-week growth rate is currently at 4.4 percent but he did not disclose, in his Tuesday announcement on Twitter, how many of the devices being activated are smart phones and how many are tablet computers, a relatively new competitive battleground in wireless devices.

Android smart phones have surpassed Apple Inc's iPhone in popularity as the Google software powers the main handsets of manufacturers such as Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, HTC Corp and Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc.

These companies have also developed tablet computers based on the Android software to compete with Apple's market-leading iPad. Google shares were up $11.58 or 2.4 percent at $494.38 on Nasdaq.
