That said, all levels of play are welcomed to drop-in and get a feel for the sport, but you will find that many advanced players populate these courts. The price is fairly reasonable though, and one will not likely break the bank trying to figure out if this sport is something they want to pursue seriously. Instructional workshops are available, and the facility does host competitive league play throughout the year.

Where should the tennis enthusiasts go who are simply looking to play a pick-up match? Just like there are public basketball courts and soccer fields throughout a city, numerous open tennis courts are easily accessible as well. For instance, right behind the University of Tampa, there are eight hard courts that are on a first come, first serve basis. If those happened to be during your desired play time, then one could make the short drive over to the nearby YMCA where at least four hard courts are also readily available on the same first come, first serve philosophy. Aside from a Saturday mornings, one should be able to just walk on and start playing. If mornings aren?t your thing, then enjoy one of the courts equipped with nighttime lighting. If the above was comparable to a university, then Saddlebrook is the Ivy League school of tennis. This place is literally a tennis heaven. Even some of today?s active ATP & WTA pros still come in to sharpen their skills at this facility. Saddlebrook wants everyone who steps through its hallowed doors to realize their full tennis potential. They are aware though, that by guiding someone to that level, there needs to be a reward. With the resort style set-up, the pain of becoming better is truly worth the grind when having access to all their lavish amenities; hence why so many people book this program as a vacation. Saddlebrook sets the standard for the area, but be prepared to pay somewhat handsomely for their rewards.
