Justin Timberlake & Jimmy Fallon Rap Again

Justin Timberlake & Jimmy Fallon Rap Again

Now that the Black-Eyed Peas are taking a break, we are pleased to announce our new favorite hip-hop supergroup: TimberFallon! During his Tuesday night appearance on Late Night, Justin Timberlake joined host Jimmy Fallon in an incredible medley of classic rap songs -- a follow-up to their memorable "History of Rap" performance back in September. Watch below (and we dare you not to dance along)!

Our three favorite moments: Timberlake cracking up while singing the girl's part in Nelly's "Hot in Herre"; Fallon and Timberlake doing "The Dougie"; and that poor guy in audience who's rocking out to Tone Loc while wearing a neck brace. (Is it weird that we're disappointed they didn't actually do a verse of "Ice Ice Baby"?) And of course, house band The Roots killed it, as always.

If you didn't catch all 19 songs, here's a handy cheat sheet, courtesy of The Amplifier:

Kurtis Blow - "The Breaks"
Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five - "The Message"
N.W.A. - "Express Yourself"
Public Enemy - "Bring the Noise"
DJ Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock - "It Takes Two"
Salt-N-Pepa - "Push It"
Vanilla Ice - "Ice Ice Baby"
Fatman Scoop - "Put Your Hands Up"
Cypress Hill - "Insane in the Membrane"
DJ Kool - "Let Me Clear My Throat"
DMX - "Party Up in Here"
Nelly - "Hot in Herre"
50 Cent - "In Da Club"
OutKast - "Hey Ya"
Lil Wayne - "A Milli"
DJ Khaled - "All I Do Is Win"
Cali Swag District - "Teach Me How to Dougie"
Rick Ross - "B.M.F."
Tone Loc - "Just a Friend"
Kurtis Blow - "The Breaks"

Unfortunately, it seems that Jimmy and Justin only collaborate on rap medleys when Timberlake, whose Friends with Benefits hits theaters Friday, has a film to promote. His sci-fi thriller In Time is slated for October, though -- so let's all cross our fingers for "A History of Rap: Part III" then!

Preparing Yourself For Foster Care Adoption | Cyc Network | Child ...

Are you happily married yet feel like there is something ? rather, someone ? missing in the family? If so, you two just might be one of those couples who are ready to welcome a child in their family. However, if it is not in the mother?s wishes to get pregnant herself or perhaps there are certain biological complications preventing conception, then the two of you should consider going for foster care adoption.

Many couples are confused about the difference between this and regular adoption. It?s pretty simple, really ? with regular adoption, you get full legal, financial, and decision-making responsibility for the child who will be placed in your care. Also, the goal is not to eventually reunite the child with his original family, but for him or her to become a permanent member of yours.

The beauty of foster care is that it is a win-win situation for both the child and the foster parents.

Couples who have long wished for a child of their own but do not have the capacity to produce any are able to experience caring for and loving a child who is practically their own by commitment. Foster children, on the other hand, are able to experience the love and the warmth of doting parents, and are brought up in a very secure, yet fulfilling environment.

Are you in the process of preparing yourself for foster care adoption as a parent? If so, remember that there are many things you should consider before making a final decision. Adoption is a big step and will affect not just you, but the rest of your family. If you have children already, this is also a topic that needs to be broached to them so that they are open about it. In this stage, open communication is very important not just between you and your spouse, but between you and every single member of your family.

Remember, you need just as much support as the child who may just become part of your lives forever.

Foster parents need to be certain that they are at a point in their lives where they are physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially ready to take on a child (or another one, if there are already children). By entering into a foster care commitment, you are agreeing to support a child in all aspects. If this is something you cannot yet guarantee, then this isn?t the right time to consider adoption. It is only fair for the child to receive 100% care and commitment from his or her foster parents.

Analysis: Ratings agencies rattle cages in U.S. (Reuters)

NEW YORK (Reuters) ? The credit ratings agencies are again angering governments, but this time they are taking on the big fish of the world economy.

From Washington to Brussels, Moody's, Standard & Poor's and Fitch have added to the intense pressure on governments trying to deal with crushing sovereign debt.

Their warnings about the precarious finances of the world's top economies have also roiled investors more accustomed to seeing emerging market countries take the brunt of criticism.

Tension hit new highs on both sides of the Atlantic last week as Moody's and Standard & Poor's threatened to downgrade the United States' prized "triple-A" rating.

A few days earlier, Moody's slashed ratings in Ireland and Portugal to "junk" status, triggering an outcry from European officials.

"These opinions, they continue to give them in such a way that it worsens the crisis," Ewald Nowotny, a member of the European Central governing council, said on Tuesday, referring to the agencies. He said markets could live without them.

Now that the agencies are focusing their fire on the rich world, U.S. and European officials -- long proponents of seeing indebted nations "take their medicine" -- are crying foul.

Their complaints carry a strong sense of deja-vu.

In 1998, when Moody's pushed Brazil deeper into "junk" rating territory, the country's finance ministry called the decision a "mistake" that showed the agency needed to invest more in sovereign risk analysis.

In a sign of the turnaround of the fortunes of many emerging economies, 11 years later in its New York headquarters Moody's received a much friendlier Brazilian finance minister, Guido Mantega, to hand him Brazil's much-awaited "investment-grade" status.

The question now is whether the agencies will be able to withstand much stronger political pressures while the debt crisis rages in developed countries.

In Europe and the United States, policymakers have already promised tougher regulations for the agencies after they failed to spot the housing bubble in the middle of the last decade. and stand accused of contributing to it by giving generous ratings to subprime mortgage bonds.

Rating agencies came under fire from holders of subprime-related securities because raters are paid by the firms issuing the securities. Investors argued that kind of "economic incentive" blurred the analysis.

Sovereign nations, by contrast, do not shell out any money for their ratings.

That has not lessened the political anger. On Wednesday, U.S. Congressman Dennis Kucinich said: "No nation, agency or organization has the authority to dictate terms to the United States government. Moody's and its compatriot S&P were a direct cause of the near collapse of the economy of the United States."

EUROPEAN RATING AGENCY

In Europe, where the agencies poured cold water on a plan for Greece to extend debt maturities and avoid a default, sentiment is even worse. European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso accused them of having an anti-European bias.

Barroso and other policymakers want the creation of an European rating agency which, they argue, would be better equipped to analyze euro zone issues. That argument overlooks the fact that Fitch is majority-owned by a French company.

The intensity of Europe's reaction to the latest sovereign downgrades is proportional to the power that ratings agencies retain over financial markets -- a clout that even the ratings agencies suggest is exaggerated.

In a recent special report about proposed regulation changes, Moody's said the agencies should not be seen as "gatekeepers in the financial markets" and their ratings should not be used as substitutes for disclosure by issuers.

WRONG TIMING

Some say policy makers may have a point when they criticize the timing of the downgrades by ratings agencies.

Their failure to anticipate the severe deterioration of sovereign credit was an issue in emerging market debt crises in the past, said Claudio Loser, a former Western hemisphere director for the International Monetary Fund.

"My experience with the rating agencies in Latin America during the debt crisis of the 1980s and 1990s is that they were a destabilizing factor," said Loser, now president of the Centennial Latin America consulting firm.

"They did not warn the markets when they should have and they did actually create more noise when it was not the appropriate thing to do."

Loser believes policymakers will force the agencies to "adjust significantly," and that they will emerge stronger from this crisis.

Does Your Business Plan Include Risk Management? | Business Plan

Putting together a business plan usually starts with a focus on an action plan that will lead to the operation of a successful business. How to achieve success is naturally what any new business owner should focus on but what about unplanned occurrences detrimental to the business? Catastrophe is not something we assume will happen but a plan for it is still needed.

It is the reality of every small business that there does lurk factors or occurrences that can indeed disrupt or destroy all your previous plans for success.

Included in the planning stages of every small business should be any risk assessment associated with your particular circumstances, market, or niche. As foreboding as this may seem this assessment simply enables you to identify many ?potential? risks to your business. The purpose of this is so that you can create a risk management plan to minimize, manage or prevent unfavorable events in a rational manner.

Employee turnover, change in industry regulations, theft, natural disasters, consumer demand and cash flow problems are just some examples of potential risk. The existence of these risks you can?t change. You can however form contingency plans to address any changes having a negative effect on business.

Put together correctly a risk management plan can not only safeguard but also benefit your business especially during the planning stages.

Below are 3 reasons why you should have a risk management plan for your business:

Creates Greater Market Awareness

Through researching and examining any potential risks to your business you should gain a greater understanding of the market itself. The knowledge and insight you gain through this research can only serve as an asset. This knowledge will come in handy when putting together your marketing strategy or simply sizing up the competition.

There is no such thing as having TOO much knowledge of your market or niche. As in most cases KNOWLEDGE IS KING!

Plans for Preventative Measures

Some but not all problems, if identified beforehand can be avoided or neutralized; therefore they never become an issue. It is findings such as these that allow you to put into place plans to avoid them. Left undetected and therefore unaddressed these same problems could cause immeasurable damage.

Effective preventative maintenance such as this is a key contributing factor to any successful business.

Plans for Damage Control

Some risks even after being identified as potentially harmful can?t always be avoided. These same risks offer the potential for significant damage if they do occur. Usually research indicates their existence but also indicates a small probability of an actual occurrence.

The focus here is not so much to avoid or prevent these types of threats since that can?t be done. Usually you have little control over their occurrence.

Risks such as these require plans that will minimize the damage. The key is to recognize them early enough so as to implement any plan aimed at discontinuing further damage.

Left unchecked long enough some of these risks can destroy a business. Your intent is to simply stop further damage and quickly. Having an action plan already in place will allow you to do that.

Hopefully you realize that every business plan should include measures that target identifying and managing risks that could damage your business. The hope of every entrepreneur is that theirs will be a successful business. However without the proper risk assessment beforehand you may be leaving yourself susceptible to events that could destroy your business. To achieve success you must plan for it and in doing so attention must be paid to potential problems that could dash your dreams. A little preplanning beforehand can save you a lot of heartache and money down the road.

Katrina Anniversary Underscores Importance of Protecting Your Home ...

National Association of Realtors ? By admin on Sunday, July 17, 2011

Washington,
August 27, 2010

It?s been five years since Hurricane Katrina came roaring into the Gulf Coast, dramatically changing New Orleans and the lives of those who called it home. While there is very little homeowners can do when facing a natural disaster of that magnitude, the anniversary ? and the current threat from Hurricane Danielle ? is an important reminder that with a little planning and preparation, homeowners can better protect their home and family from a disaster.

The experts at HouseLogic ? a free, comprehensive consumer website about all aspects of homeownership ? say that with research and a little work homeowners can quickly develop a plan that will help them reduce losses and recover faster following a natural disaster.

?Families build their futures through homeownership, and HouseLogic should be a homeowner?s first stop when it comes to increasing, maintaining, and protecting the value of his or her home,? said NAR President Vicki Cox Golder, owner of Vicki L. Cox Associates in Tucson, Ariz. ?Sometimes it?s unpleasant to think about disaster plans and preparing for the unknown but it?s an important thing for homeowners to do to ensure the continued safety of their family and homes.?

According to HouseLogic, homeowners should begin their natural disaster preparations by developing a plan. A good disaster plan includes not only an emergency preparedness kit, with important papers, food and water, and extra blankets and flashlights but also a well-thought out plan for how family members will evacuate and communicate ? making sure that everyone in the family is familiar with the plan and knows what to do and where to go in case of an emergency.

Homeowners should also make sure their home is properly insured against natural disasters, since many plans don?t cover earthquakes, hurricanes and floods ? especially in high risk areas ? and consider supplemental disaster insurance policies that cover losses from specific catastrophes that traditional policies don?t cover. Homeowners should first review their existing policy?to determine what?s covered since supplemental plans can cost a few hundred dollars to several thousand each year depending on the type of disaster and the home?s location, size and type, and then determine their area?s disaster risk.

In the event of a hurricane, residents should reinforce doors and windows against strong winds. Hurricane film is an inexpensive, clear plastic film that keeps glass shards from becoming dangerous missiles and can be left in place year-round, however it can?t prevent heavy winds from blowing in the entire window frame. Another less expensive alternative is plywood; its downside is that it?s temporary and is often put up at the last minute when a hurricane is approaching. An easier but more expensive alternative is roll-up or accordion-style storm shutters that are permanently attached to a house. The most expensive option may be high-impact windows,?made of?two panes of tempered glass separated by a plastic film. They are always in place and since they look like standard windows they don?t affect a home?s appearance.

While hurricanes often bring great amounts of rain that can cause flooding, few places in the country are considered safe from floods, which are the most common natural disaster in the U.S. Storms with hard rains, snow or ice melting, surging bodies of water, or overflowing levees and dams are often the culprit. Homeowners who live in high-risk areas should have a ?go-bag? ready in case they need to leave quickly; including a change of clothing, insurance policy and agent contact information, and toiletries as well as money, an evacuation route and a place to stay.

While little can be done to hold off flood waters like those following Hurricane Katrina, homeowners can do a few things to lessen potential damages, according to HouseLogic. Leaky roofs and foundation cracks can let water into a home more readily and weaken the structure, so it?s important to make repairs quickly. It?s also good to clear gutters and drains, invest in a battery-powered sump pump, and prevent sewer backup by installing a check valve, which allows waste to only flow one way. It?s also smart to catalog all of your possessions using a digital camcorder or camera and move expensive items to a higher location such as a second floor or attic.

If flood waters do make their way into a home, HouseLogic provides advice for action within the first 24 hours.?Before entering the home check for any visible structural damage. Turn off all water and electrical sources, even if the power isn?t currently operational because it could reactivate. Before making repairs or removing any water, fully document the damage by taking photos or video and notify the insurer as soon as possible. Wear waders or waterproof boots and rubber gloves because water could be contaminated by sewage or household chemicals. After the insurer has approved removing the water, use a sump pump or wet vac, open doors and windows, and remove wet contents, including carpeting and bedding, to mitigate mold damage.
